As a citizen of the United States it's important to understand what I'm putting into my body to eat. With a wide variety of food to select from certain stores it's important to know what goes into food safety. There are certain ways of processing food that we need to understand. 1 in every 6 Americans get sick from contaminated food every year. One main organization that helps cope with food safety is Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC tracks foodborne illnesses and works with state organizations plus government organizations to investigate foodborne outbreaks. Food safety is very important since all humans need to food to survive. It' important to understand ways to safely prepare food and to stop foodborne illness outbreaks.
